Second in series of ‘5000’
A challenging greenish variation of this work. A painted sort of juicy and shiny 3D green metallic impasto lines and corners, create a ‘maze-like’ second dimension floating over a kaleidoscope of tiny vintage people who repeat and repeat.
Digital Mixed Media, photography, stamps and impasto like painting, meant to be printed quite large for smaller yet visible details.
Ultimately a non-pattern over the a totally different non-pattern, created with an image captured from a family circa 1945 photograph of men and women engineers and builders in the Canal Zone Panama, my grandpa is amongst them. Thousands of photo stamps are made and an off-center 2D kaleidoscope of sorts created with their faces looking outward. Thick colorful grassy impasto paint style with many layers creates a haphazard maze of partial geometric structures which the stamps go up and over.
The shock of color may draw one closer to see the real details.
